AIN Management System Information

The Animal Identification Numbering Management System is a Web-based program that records the distribution of unique Animal Identification Numbers (AINs) used to identify livestock under the National Animal Identification System. AINs are unique 15-digit numbers that will be imprinted on, or associated with approved identification devices under the NAIS. AINs can be used in State and Federal animal-disease monitoring and surveillance programs, as well as for performance recording or breed registration.

AIN device manufacturers, managers and resellers report the distribution of AIN devices on the AIN management system.

If you are interested in becoming an AIN Device Manufacturer, please e-mail NAIS.Program.Staff@aphis.usda.gov and an application will be provided to you.
