In support of USDA strategic missions, the Office of the Associate Chief Information Officer is the functional authority on IT capital planning and investment control, IT governance, and business process re-engineering.

In support of USDA strategic missions, the Office of the Associate Chief Information Officer (ACIO), IRMC is the functional authority on the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA), Information Technology (IT) Portfolio Management (a.k.a. Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC), IT Governance, Enterprise Architecture (EA), Category Management, OCIO Policy management, E-Government, Strategic Planning, Section 508 compliance, Controlled Unclassified Information(CUI) and Information Collection. IRMC provides actionable IT governance and guidance in compliance with federal laws to ensure efficient, effective management of IT in support of USDA mission and goals.

Enterprise Architect Division (EAD)

The Enterprise Architecture Division provides a planning concept and delivery process designed to help translate business strategies into mission results. We leverage data as a strategic asset so that architecture becomes a tool to make data-driven decisions that optimize resources, identify duplication, and cost saving opportunities. The EAD team supports the creation of an integrated, tiered Enterprise Architecture (EA) that supports improved planning and risk management at both the agency and Department levels.

Information Management Division (IMD)

The Information Management Division helps USDA organizations plan, develop, coordinate, collect, distribute, use, and manage in accordance with USDA policy and management best practices. Section 508 provides guidance to the Department to ensure Information and Communication Technology is accessible to people with disabilities. The Information and Collection Departmental Clearance Officers develops and coordinates all information collection requests in compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act.

Information Technology Policy & Audits Division (IPAD)

The IT Policy and Audits Division (IPAAD) is responsible for managing the Department’s Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) program; serving as the advisor to OCIO concerning OCIO-sponsored Departmental Policy and OCIO regulations and forms; the Department’s participation in Electronic-Government initiatives and Open Government activities; and safeguarding the nation’s IT resources from fraud, waste, and abuse through its audit management program.

Information Technology Portfolio Management Division (ITPMD)

The Information Technology Portfolio Management Division (ITPMD) provides management and oversight to ensure USDA IT investments align with mission priorities, strategic goals, and performance milestones.

Information Technology Strategic Planning & Governance Division (ITSPGD)

The Information Technology Strategic Planning and Governance Division (ITSPG) aims to ensure the effective and efficient use of (IT) to enable the USDA to achieve its goals. Our team helps ensure that USDA’s IT efforts align with the strategic direction of the department, provides guidance on IT strategy development across the enterprise, inform and align decision making for IT planning, policy, and operations, and enable transparency in IT investments.
