Information Technology Portfolio Management Division (ITPMD)
The Information Technology Portfolio Management Division (ITPMD) provides management and oversight to ensure USDA IT investments align with mission priorities, strategic goals, and performance milestones.
ITPMD’s required portfolio of programs are under multiple mandated laws. Most notably, ITPMD is under the regulatory umbrella of the Clinger Cohen Act of 1996 and the most recent law of the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA) which established and reinforced the principles of the Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) ensuring planning concepts and delivery translate into measurable mission results & performance achievements while monitoring and evaluating Mission Areas execution of their investments risk management strategies. Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) is a core function of management and facilitation for ITPMD and is a systematic enterprise-wide IT governance strategy approach to selecting, managing, controlling, and evaluating information technology investments.
